What should I wear?
Comfortable fitting clothing you would wear for any type of workout is best. Leggings, joggers, shorts, tank tops or t-shirts are all good. For the hygiene of everyone using the equipment, please do not wear only a crop top. Grippy socks only if you choose to wear socks.
What should I bring to class?
All equipment is provided for our clients. Please bring a bottle of water and a towel if you feel it is necessary. Grippy socks are available at the studio for $10.00 if needed.
Can I still do Pilates if I am not in good shape?
The beauty of Pilates is that it is for everybody and every body. We begin where you are and continue from there. Pilates is a comprehensive system of exercises that can be modified for anybody regardless of experience or strength level.
Can I do Pilates if I am not flexible?
Again, Pilates is for everybody and everybody. Through consistent practice, you will gain both strength and flexibility in your body, especially in the muscles of the core and back.
How many times per week do I have to come to class?
As a beginner new to pilates it is suggested your practice is 1 to 2 days per week.
Will I be sore after a session?
Like any form of exercise, you will be sore from using muscles that you are not used to using or are being used in a new or different way. You should not feel pain after a session, but soreness is not uncommon.
How many people are in a class?
I pride myself on paying close attention to the form my clients have. Private sessions are available, but most sessions are 2 to 3 people max.
Is it safe to practice Pilates during pregnancy?
As with all exercise practice, Pilates is safe during pregnancy as long as you have been practicing prior to becoming pregnant. Modifications will be used as the pregnancy progresses. It is suggested that you have a conversation with your doctor to determine whether it is safe for you to continue while you are pregnant.
