It is widely embraced by everyone from professional athletes and dancers to rehabilitation patients and individuals just starting out on their fitness journey. When practiced faithfully, Pilates yields numerous benefits, including increased lung capacity, improved circulation, strength, flexibility (particularly of the abdomen and back muscles), and coordination (both muscular and mental). Posture, balance, and core strength also improve, along with bone density and joint health. Many experience positive body awareness for the first time through Pilates.
